The Curlers’ Rest, has been always been known as The Curlers but has also used names such as Curlers’ Ale House and Curlers’ Tavern.

A tavern has said to have occupied this site since the seventeenth century when this part of Glasgow was still countryside.curlersrest-exterior The present incarnation is housed in an eighteenth century two-storey cottage and derived its name from the original pub, also called Curlers’ Rest, which was situated next to a large pond which froze over every winter, enticing the local curlers to play on the ice. Over the years it has been many a different type of pub, it’s been a biker bar, local pub, student pub and now it’s a traditional style pub with gastro pub food.

Residing in Glasgow’s diverse West End, close to both Kelvingrove and the Botanic Gardens, the vibrant yet laidback Curlers’ Rest is the perfect place to soak up the local art scene and you’ll find some of its best efforts adorning our walls. We may be 600 years old, but we’re looking good for our age with exposed brickwork and stripped wooden floors making for a proper-pub feel.
